CSO Reprises ONE CITY, ONE SYMPHONY and SPEAK TRUTH

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Louis Langr e are pleased to reveal details regarding the reprisal of the popular One City, One Symphony initiative, designed to bring people together through music. The Orchestra, along with community partners, will provide opportunities for audiences to connect and discuss the music as it relates to relevant societal themes, leading up to the CSO's performances on November 25-26 at 8 p.m. at Music Hall. This year's program centers on the theme of Speak Truth, and features Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6, Shostakovich's Cello Concerto No. 1 and a new world premiere work, Abound, by Philadelphia-based composer Emily Cooley.

Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival concludes its 51st season with a revival of the acclaimed Budapest Festival Orchestra production of Don Giovanni, directed and conducted by Ivan Fischer, with a cast led by baritone Christopher Maltman; Renee and Robert Belfer Music Director Louis Langree leading two Festival Orchestra programs featuring pianist Kirill Gerstein in his Mostly Mozart debut and violinist Gil Shaham; a special appearance by Langree on piano in a pre-concert recital with Susanna Phillips; and Mostly Mozart artists-in-residence International Contemporary Ensemble performing a nature-inspired program by three pioneering female composers and featuring Wu Wei in his festival debut.
