Center Theatre Group's fourth annual Block Party highlights some of the remarkable work being done on other stages throughout Los Angeles by fully producing two previously staged productions.

Hear ye, hear ye, fair city of New York; Los Angeles's premier musical comedy collective -- Robot Teammate -- announces a triumphant return to SoHo Playhouse this holiday season to share their wee original British-ish musical comedy, POCKETS. This funny, fresh, and festive musical premiered to a completely sold out run at the 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival, where it was awarded Best Musical, Best World Premiere, Critics' Choice, and Producers' Encore.

Darren Lee Cole, producing artistic director of the not-for-profit, SoHo Playhouse and associate producer Matthew Quinn are proud to continue this year's Encore Series  - Week Two with a range of shows from clowning to family to comedy to drama, to female empowerment there is something for everyone. Week Two includes Mil Grus, Pockets, Larry, Desiree's Coming Early, Ingenue: Deanna Durbin among the 18 productions featured this year.

Sacred Fools Theater Company is concluding its 22st season on a comically twisted note with the World Premiere of Tangerine Sunset, written by Peter Fluet and directed by JJ Mayes. Opening Friday, March 15 and running through April 13 on the Main Stage at the Broadwater Theater Complex, the hilariously bizarre comedy will run Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 7pm.

The Sacred Fools Theater Company is kicking off its New Works Reading Series with presentations of four unproduced plays from emerging playwrights that embrace the theatrical form and speak to the diverse culture of contemporary society. The readings will take place on four Sundays at 5:00 pm in late January and February. These readings will be held in the Second Stage at the Broadwater Theater Complex and attendance is free to the public. A series reception will follow the first reading next door at The Broadwater Plunge.

Sacred Fools Theater Company is adding another ongoing show to its jam-packed calendar with The League of Fools, kicking off this Thursday, October 11 at 9:00pm in the Broadwater Black Box Theater. The 2018 Stage Raw Theater Awards celebrate excellence on the Los Angeles stages in venues of 99-seats or under. This fourth annual edition included productions that opened between January 1, 2017 and May 31, 2018. Stage Raw is a community funded professional journalism website that was created in response to the decline of arts coverage in local mainstream and alternative media.The Awards ceremony was held Monday night, August 20, at Los Angeles Theatre Center, 514 S. Spring Street in downtown Los Angeles, hosted by Coeurage Theatre Company, and co-directed by Jer Adrianne Lelliott, Thaddeus Shafer and Lauren Ludwig. Winners notated in red below.

The spooky trio of plays run the gamut from singing vampires and ghouls to unholy teenage transformations to Frankenstein's creation seeking love in the Jane Austen era.

The Sacred Fools Theater Company is delighted to present the World Premiere of The Art Couple by Brendan Hunt (Absolutely Filthy), directed by Lauren Van Kurin. The comic mayhem begins Friday, February 16 and runs through Sunday, March 17 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 7pm (with the exception of Sunday, March 4 - no performance that date). The show will be performed in the Black Box Theater of the Broadwater Theater Complex.

Long before Felix met Oscar, Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin were ill-fitting roommates in the south of France, which turned out to be a fateful co-habitation that changed the face of art - as well as Van Gogh's face! Playwright Brendan Hunt cleverly re-imagines these two art masters as the subjects of Neil Simon's original draft of The Odd Couple, which Hunt presents as being co-written with yet another of the oddest couples possible - Sam Shepard, here introduced as Steve, an oddball busboy looking for his first big break.

The Sacred Fools Theater Company is excited to present the World Premiere of the monster drama Akuma-shin by Kenley Smith, directed by Scott Leggett. The final Mainstage show of the company's 21st season opens Friday, March 30 and runs through Saturday, April 28 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 7pm. The show will be performed in the Main Stage Theater of the Broadwater Theater Complex.
