Drama Works Theatre Company, a resident theatre company in Old Saybrook, will continue its 2023 season with Lucy Kirkwood's gripping and timely drama, The Children. The play is directed by Judy George and stars Brian Cunningham, Barbara Gallow, and Elise Murphy Mulligan. Performances will take place August 25th, 26th, September 1st and 2nd at 7:30 PM and August 27th at 3:00 PM.

Young Patronesses of the Opera (YPO), in conjunction with Florida Grand Opera (FGO), held the 27th edition of YPO Voice Competition, awarding $46,000 in prizes to young singers from around the country. The Finals Concert and Awards Ceremony were held at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County on Saturday, April 27, 2013.

This year, the Finals Concert will be held for the first time at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. Offering a program of popular and significant arias as sung by today's brightest young talents, the concert takes place on April 27, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. with tickets available to the public for as low as $10.
The theme of this year's event, the Magic of Broadway, takes its cue from such beloved musicals as Chicago, Oklahoma and South Pacific. Tunes from hits like Hair will fill the air as the hotel's ballroom is transformed into Times Square south for a show-stopping extravaganza of music, dancing and live performances -- all in an effort to raise critical funds for music and opera educational programs including professional children's opera performances which are presented to over 45,000 elementary school students annually, a Girl Scout Workshop for more than 200 Girl Scouts and an annual Teachers' Workshop which offers continuing education credits for 150 Miami-Dade County teachers on opera education in the classroom.
Broadway producer George W. George passed away Wednesday, November 7. He was 87.
