John Tams

John Tams is a British actor, singer, and songwriter who has made a name for himself in both the theater and music worlds. Born in Holbrook, Derbyshire in 1949, Tams began his career as a member of the folk group The Albion Band in the 1970s. He later went on to become a solo artist, releasing several albums of his own material.

In addition to his music career, Tams has also had a successful career as an actor. He has appeared in numerous stage productions in the UK, including several productions in London's West End. One of his most notable stage roles was as the lead in the original London production of the musical War Horse, which premiered at the National Theatre in 2007. Tams played the role of Songman, a character who provides the musical accompaniment to the story.
Tams is also well-known for his work on television. He has appeared in several popular British TV shows, including Heartbeat, Sharpe, and Poldark. In the latter, he played the role of Redcoat Sergeant Peter Noakes. Tams has also worked as a composer for television, contributing music to shows such as The Bill and Midsomer Murders.
