AIRLINE HIGHWAY is a fascinating slice of life from Lisa D’Amour. It feels like we are watching everything happen in real time, and it seems so authentic to New Orleans. It has a wonderful sense of place.

Review: INCIDENT AT VICHY at Theatre Southwest
by Jonathan Netek - Sep 14, 2025

INCIDENT AT VICHY is a lesser-known work by the legendary Arthur Miller in which nine men wait in a quiet detention room in Nazi-occupied France, unsure why they’ve been taken, what’s coming next, and who will be spared. As questions swirl and suspicions rise, a chilling truth emerges: the arrests are not random.
Interview: John Patterson of INCIDENT AT VICHY at Theatre Southwest
by Brett Cullum - Sep 9, 2025

Arthur built such a great crescendo that there's no stepping off the train, as, if you will, anywhere where you lose momentum by taking a break. So we just push right through the 90 minutes. Just one act, and you're out of the theater.

BWW Review: INNOCENCE, Bread & Roses Theatre
by Cindy Marcolina - Nov 11, 2021

There aren’t that many plays that deal with grooming and David Mamet’s Oleanna is the one piece that always springs to mind. Even then, we have an older professor accused of sexual harassment by one of his students. What happens when we shift the light and it’s a young boy who reports his sports teacher years later? John Patterson responds to that scenario with a multi-faceted and hard-hitting play. Innocence isn’t the answer to a problem. Once the show is over, it feels like he’s put a picture in front of his audience and now asks to describe it. It demands a discussion over drinks right after.
