The Broadway Green Alliance will launch Earth Week by joining the Earth Day Initiative and March for Science NYC for their Earth Day 50 Virtual Kick-Off on Sunday, April 19 from 3:30pm - 10pm ET. Rock singer and former American Idol David Cook will be making his Broadway debut as Charlie Price in Kinky Boots this spring! Cook will begin performances on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He will play a limited run through Saturday, May 5, 2018.

He will play a strictly limited run through Friday, April 26, 2018.

The Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots celebrated 2,000 performances on Broadway at Saturday's matinee performance, January 20, 2018. Led by Scissor Sisters front-man Jake Shears as Charlie Price and J. Harrison Ghee as Lola, the matinee audience took part in a full-theater photograph to commemorate the show's milestone performance.

EW reports that Jake Shears, the lead singer of Scissor Sisters, and Kirstin Maldonado, Grammy-award winner for her work in the a capella group Pentatonix, will join the cast of Kinky Boots next year!

Alternative Press is reporting that the cast of Kinky Boots is currently running an online auction of collectibles and fan experiences to raise money for Eric L. Summers who is currently battling cancer. All proceeds will go towards his medical bills.

On Monday, August 7th, cast members from the Broadway and touring productions of Kinky Boots will take to the stage of Feinstein's/54 Below to sing the music of Cyndi Lauper. The concert will serve as a benefit to help pay the medical bills of Kinky Boots cast member Eric LaJuan Summers, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

Broadway Shines, the organization of Broadway kids serving to mobilize the Broadway community to help children and families in need, just concluded this year's coat drive.
