The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) today announced the 2019 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award. The nominations were announced this morning by the current stars of Waitress, Shoshana Bean and Jeremy Jordan, at the official announcement event at Sardi's Restaurant, which was streamed live online here at BroadwayWorld.

Head Over Heels, the new musical comedy featuring the iconic songs of The Go-Go's - the most successful female rock band of all time - will play its final Broadway performance at Hudson Theatre (141 West 44th Street) on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Head Over Heels, which began preview performances on Saturday, June 23 and officially opened on Thursday, July 26, 2018, will have played 188 regular performances and 37 previews.

Blackpills' dramedy series “Bonding,” loosely based on the life experiences of Rightor Doyle (BARRY, YOU'RE THE WORST), who wrote, directed and executive produced the series is premiering at Outfest 2018. Zoe Levin (PALO ALTO, THE WAY WAY BACK), Brendan Scannell (“Heathers”), and Micah Stock (“Escape at Dannemora,” BRITTANY RUNS A MARATHON) star in the series. JOHNNY CHRIST tells the story of Larry Dagger is a forty year old, unemployed, ex demolition derby pilot, trying to support his wife and two children. Driving home one night, he saves a man, Johnny, who is lying naked and wounded in the road and brings him back to his families home. Vera, Larry's wife, stitches and cleans his wounds and helps him recover. With no money, Johnny agrees to stay with the Daggers and convinces Larry to get back into derbying. But as Larry becomes more and more obsessed with the idea of building a car for the next derby he doesn't see the strange effect Johnny's presence is having on his family. With his arrival, the Daggers discover their lives will forever be changed by letting this stranger into their home.
