PRIMARY STAGES announced casting for On That Day in Amsterdam by Clarence Coo (People Sitting in Darkness) and directed by Zi Alikhan (The Boy Who Danced on Air). On That Day in Amsterdam will begin previews at 59E59’s Theater A on July 23, 2022, with opening night set for August 11 for a limited run through September 4, 2022.
The Australian Theatre Festival is an annual celebration of Australian stories and artists in New York City that included three staged readings of Australian plays, including the 2020 New Play Award Winner, The Tiniest Thing by Richard Jordan, a cabaret at The Green Room 42, an industry panel and a community networking event.
ABC Talent and Casting will present the 2019 ABC Discovers: New York Talent Showcase, TUESDAY, SEPT. 17, at the New World Stages – Stage 2, in New York City. Part of Walt Disney Television's ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for undiscovered talent, the showcase features selected participants performing in a one-night showcase for casting directors, talent agents, managers and other industry professionals. In addition, the selected showcase actors are awarded a one-year mentorship with executives from ABC Casting. As part of the mentorship, the showcase actors will be offered on-camera workshops specifically for them to further hone their craft and auditioning skills. Talent will also have access to various ABC executives.
In some ways, history is all we have in terms of building a brighter future. At times, we either forget that history, or we never learn about such events that would lead us to make more informed decisions. Remembering historical events clearly isn't the most sought after activity to spend your time. Thus enters the world of theater, where people come to delve into stories and as an added bonus walk out after the show a little more educated than they were walking in. Such was the case for myself in taking in DCPA's production of Vietgone.

In this special collaboration, the Los Angeles Theatre Ensemble (LATE) pairs its professional directors and actors with students from Santa Monica High School's Drama Department to present Shakespearean scenes prior to select performances of the London Globe's Hamlet and Fiasco Theatre Co.'s Cymbeline. Fulfilling the Education and Outreach missions of LATE and The Broad Stage, Pop Up Shakespeare educates and excites local youth about the magic of theatre by involving them, from beginning to end, in the professional process.
