The George Devine Award has announced its 2023 Shortlist of nine playwrights. Formed in 1966 in memory of the Royal Court's founding Artistic Director George Devine, the Award is recognised as one of the most prestigious in new writing and seeks to shine a light on a playwright of promise.

Telling the little-known true story of the Sterling Ladies, this world premiere from one of the most widely performed playwrights in the UK celebrates the Lionesses and the pioneering women who paved the way as they played their hearts out a century before. Known as the Dagenham Invincibles and the greatest women's football team of World War One, the Sterling Ladies never lose a game over two seasons and are declared 'The Unbeaten Women Champions of the Country'.

Emerging  playwright Roxy Cook was announced today as the winner of the 2023 Theatre503 International Playwriting Award for her first play A Woman Walks Into a Bank. Roxy accepted the Award from Erica Whyman, Chair of the Award Judging Panel at an event taking place in the shell of the 503Studio at Nine Elms, which will become a world-class centre for debut playwrights.

Five outstanding new writers from the UK, US and Eastern Europe are the finalists for the 2023 Theatre503 International Playwriting Award. Olga Braga, Georgia Bruce, Roxy Cook, Charlotte Cromie, and Nia Akilah Robinson's plays were chosen from 1,466 scripts sent in from 49 countries.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre has announced the full cast and creative team for the West Coast premiere of Emma Rice’s critically acclaimed Wuthering Heights, a reimagined version of Emily Brontë’s gothic masterpiece. Performances begin Friday, November 18 and continue through Sunday, January 1, 2023.

The co-production with the National Theatre, Bristol Old Vic and York Theatre Royal, in association with Berkeley Repertory Theater, makes its US première at St Ann's Warehouse, New York, on 14 October, before touring to Berkeley Repertory Theater, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts and Chicago Shakespeare Theater, with more dates to be announced.

Papatango announced that Clive Judd has won the 14th annual Papatango New Writing Prize for his debut full-length play, Here, from a record 1,553 entries. A new musical adaptation of Enid Blyton's Malory Towers is heading to Storyhouse during Summer 2020.

David Pugh will present Emma Rice's critically acclaimed musical adaptation of Enid Blyton's Malory Towers, originally created with Wise Children. This new production will be co-produced with Theatre by the Lake, Keswick, where the production will open on 27 March 2020, before going on a national tour, concluding at Southbank Centre's Queen Elizabeth Hall, where it will play from 27 July to 31 August, with national press performances on 31 July, 1 and 2 August.

The Watermill Theatre's 2018 Christmas Show is a new adaptation of ROBIN HOOD by acclaimed children's author Laura Dockrill with music by Hugo White, former member of the indie rock band The Maccabees. ROBIN HOOD is directed by Laura Keefe and runs at the theatre from 15 November to 5 January 2019.

In 2223, on the Moon, Lorn (Jonny Purkiss) is explaining to his A.I. partner Cal (Nicholas Finerty) what it means to be loved. These four stories that have nothing and yet everything in common intertwine in Callisto: a queer epic, becoming a vast exploration of love and passion across time.

Almost three years ago now, Callisto: a queer epic began as a loose collection of four monologues spanning 500 years. It included an opera star, a porn star, a stargazer, and a lonely robot called CAL.

Following a sell-out run last year, Forward Arena today announces the full cast for Hal Coase's Callisto: a queer epic, which returns to Arcola Theatre as their final production this year. Thomas Bailey directs returning cast members, Georgia Bruce (Amy/Melissa), Nicholas Finerty (Cal/Harold/Hart), Mary Higgins (Katherine/Lola), Phoebe Hames (Isobel Morcom/Aunty/Nurse) and Marilyn Nadebe (Arabella); joined by Jonathan Purkiss (Lorn/Richard/Killigrew), Darren Siah (Alan/Blake/Dryden) and Francesca Zoutewelle (Tammy).
