With one foot on stage and the other behind the scenes, Elizabeth Carena has been creating theater, music, and experiential performance in New York City and nationally for nearly 15 years.
Elizabeth has originated more than a dozen roles with the Bessie Award-winning company Third Rail Projects (including Ghost Light at Lincoln Center’s LCT3, Nomination: 2018 Chita Rivera Award for Outstanding Female Dancer in an Off-Broadway Show), The Grand Paradise, and the long-running immersive hit Then She Fell, where she originated the role of the Hatter). Also with Third Rail, she has served as Assistant Director (Behind the City), Project Manager, Producer, and performance coach, as well as Managing Director of the company from 2007-2016.
She is an original member of the NYC rock band Mother Feather, whose eponymous debut was released in 2016 on Metal Blade Records; their followup LP Constellation Baby will arrive in 2018. She has worked with filmmakers Yael Zeevi (Aping the Beast, coming in 2018), Kathleen Harty (Glitter Rocks, coming in 2018), multimedia artists Shaun Irons & Lauren Petty (Why Why Always, 2017), and served as Capital Associate at Theatre for a New Audience from 2007-2012. She currently serves as Development Manager for the progressive media company Independent Media Institute, and handles finances and business management for Mother Feather’s Hit Heaven LLC.
Elizabeth holds a BA in Performance from Fordham University at Lincoln Center. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with @heyorangecat, watching bad action movies, and learning new formulas in Microsoft Excel.
