Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts announces a new partnership with Weeksville Heritage Center (WHC) to co-present their annual National Grid Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 21, 2018. This interactive family event will take place on the beautiful 1.5-acre interpretive landscape of the nationally landmarked, environmentally 'green' Weeksville Heritage Center campus in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The National Grid Earth Day Celebration is free and open to the public, with no tickets or reservations required.

Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College continues its 2017-18 Kumble Theater season with Daniel Beaty's solo theatrical tour-de-force, Emergency, on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 8pm and Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 3pm.  Originally titled Emergence-SEE when it made its New York premiere at the Public Theater in 2006 under the direction of Kenny Leon, the show has since toured nationally and internationally, earning Beaty a 2007 Obie Award for Writing & Performing and a 2007 AUDELCO Award for Solo Performance.

BRIC presents Reenactment, a group exhibition examining and agitating the aesthetics and politics of historical reenactment in contemporary art (January 18-February 25). In traditional reenactments, events like the American Revolution and Civil War are embodied by amateur performers using storytelling and props, all too often approaching history as unchangeable and absolute.
