Sing for Hope debuts a new piano at 28 Liberty Street, bringing music and art to Lower Manhattan. The piano, designed by Arianna Santoriello, is inspired by Jean Debuffet's 'Group of Four Trees' sculpture. The unveiling coincides with Fosun's Holiday Open House at Court 16.

After a five year hiatus, Lyric Opera of Chicago is back this Spring with Wine Auction 2023, on May 13. Named a 'Top Charity Wine Auction' by Wine Spectator Magazine, the famed event is returning with its most lavish year yet, with all proceeds from making a profound contribution to Lyric's ability to present the joy of live performance through the wonder of grand opera.

A new collective bargaining agreement between the Metropolitan Opera and its orchestra, the last of the Met’s three largest unions to reach an agreement, was ratified today. To commemorate the occasion, the Met has announced two free, pre-season performances of Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, “Resurrection,” to take place in Damrosch Park on 9/4 and 9/5.

Each Sing for Hope Piano features original artwork designed by Los Angeles-based visual artists and will appear at iconic locations throughout the area, including Beverly Hills City Hall, Beverly Gardens Park, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, Will Rogers Memorial Park, La Cienega Park, and Roxbury Park.

Yunus and Zamora will be leading masterclasses for singers (student and professionals), other musicians, choir directors, audience members, art advocates, and music teachers, featuring University of Arkansas voice students and others interested in participating. The masterclasses will be delivered via Zoom on Thursday, October 15 from 3:30 to 5:00.

Sing for Hope has been approved for a $10,000 Challenge America grant to support the Sing for Hope Pianos. This project expands public art access for sites where pathways to arts access are generally denied due to income or accessibility.

On Monday, October 28, Sing for Hope held its 13th annual Sing for Hope Gala, uniting New York's philanthropic and cultural leaders for a magical evening in support of the organization's programs and commitment to bring the arts to under-resourced areas. The event, co-chaired by Ann Ziff, Jon Batiste, and Muhammad Yunus, was held at celebrity chef Danny Meyer's acclaimed Bay Room event space.

Sing for Hope announced today that Dr. Haruhisa Handa, Chairman of the International Foundation of Arts and Culture and Sing for Hope's Global Patron, has made a decade-long commitment to support SFH's programs in New York City as well as dynamic new creative initiatives around the globe. The announcement follows Dr. Handa's increasing commitment to the organization with a significant financial contribution. 

The names of 231 contestants in the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition are now available. Those taking part in the first round of the Competition will be 25 musicians each specializing in the Piano, Violin and Cello categories, 60 singers in the vocal category, and 96 contestants in the two new Competition categories, Winds and Brass Instruments, which respectively include 48 woodwind performers and 48 brass performers.

Sing for Hope announced this week that Linda E. Johnson has been elected Chair of the Board by unanimous board vote.

Sing for Hope is bringing the renowned Sing for Hope Pianos back to the streets of New York City this summer. From June 4-24, in celebration of the work Sing for Hope does in communities year-round, 51 Sing for Hope Pianos will be made available for anyone and everyone to play.

The Juilliard School today announced that alumnus Wynton Marsalis, trumpeter, director of Juilliard Jazz Studies, and artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center, will address the graduates at the school's 113th commencement ceremony, which takes place Friday, May 18, 2018, at 11am in Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center. Mr. Marsalis received an honorary doctor of music degree from Juilliard in 2006. This will be the final commencement for Juilliard President Joseph W. Polisi, who has had a long association with Mr. Marsalis and asked that he be the commencement speaker. In July, Damian Woetzel will begin as the school's seventh president.
