The Geffen Playhouse is world premiering mentalist Vinny DePonto’s latest show Mindplay. The run (already started) plays through December 18, 2022. I got the chance to chat with Vinny’s long-time collaborator director Andrew Neisler.

Geffen Stayhouse’s sixth virtual production Jared Mezzocchi’s SOMEONE ELSE’S HOUSE world premieres April 30, 2021. This live, virtual, and interactive theatrical experience was written and will be performed by Jared. Based on the true-life haunting encounters of generations of his family living in New England, the Zoomed audience will follow along with Jared narrating his family histories using the “haunting kits” pre-mailed before their reserved performance.

The Present is inspired by master illusionist and storyteller Helder Guimarães' own life experience with quarantine during childhood. Using his signature mind-bending illusions, Guimarães leads us through a funny, moving and ultimately illuminating story of lessons he learned when he least expected it.

Panelists have been announced for a?oeL.A. Theatre Goes Digital: Creating Online,a?? this Thursday, May 7, at 3 pm PT. The second in Center Theatre Group's bi-weekly discussion series L.A. Theatre Speaks, the talk will feature local artistic directors DJ Kurs (Deaf West Theatre), Stephen Sachs (Fountain Theatre) and Yuval Sharon(The Industry) as well as Katie Lowes (IAMA Theatre Company Co-Artistic Director) and Amy Levinson (Geffen Playhouse Associate Artistic Director).

Geffen Playhouse today announced its selection of six local writers to participate in the launch of the inaugural cycle of The Writers' Room, a forum for engagement and collaboration between Los Angeles playwrights. The participants for 2018/2019 are Angelica Cheri, Dipika Guha, Chelsea Marcantel, Brian Otaño, Liza Powel O'Brien and Matt Schatz.

The World Premiere of Chasing Mem'ries: A Different Kind of Musical, starring Tony and Emmy Award winner Tyne Daly and featuring new and original songs by award-winning lyricists Alan & Marilyn Bergman, plays an extended run at the Gil Cates Theater at The Geffen Playhouse through Sunday, December 17, 2017. Opening night is tonight, November 15.
