The National Theatre and Audible have released a new podcast, New Voices, featuring ten plays from shortlisted and winning New Views playwrights. The New Voices series aims to celebrate and platform the next generation of writing talent from across the UK. 

From the acclaimed PASTICHENYC, who recently brought audiences Jane Austen's Persuasion Song Cycle and Edith Wharton's The House of Mirth Song Cycle comes the World Premiere of sparkling 8-part comedic, musical, radio drama series, original and unique, GRACE UNDER PRESSURE follows the simple story of a woman alone in New York in the '90s, an age of diminished expectations.

Two free programmes for young people interested in learning about technical theatre and offstage careers in the creative industry return this year.

Wolverhampton Grand Theatre and the National Theatre have announced a season of free theatre screenings at Wolverhampton Central Library. A series of theatre productions on the National Theatre Collection will be shown once a month, on Monday evenings with two family orientated screenings on Saturday afternoons.

With 75% of UK state secondary schools signed up to the National Theatre Collection, ten additional productions will now be available to schools, colleges and educational establishments from today in partnership with Bloomsbury Publishing and ProQuest, part of Clarivate.

Building on the success of the National Theatre Collection, with 71% of UK state secondary schools now signed up to access this digital resource, an additional 10 theatre productions have been added to the platform for schools, colleges and the education sector worldwide in partnership with Bloomsbury Publishing and ProQuest.

As the theatre industry continues to face huge challenges and the National Theatre closes again under new coronavirus restrictions, the NT is prioritising its work with young people across the UK to provide opportunities for them to take part in creative activities and find new ways to explore theatre-making.

Following the announcement from the UK Government for all UK schools to close in light of the Coronavirus pandemic, the National Theatre Collection will now be available to pupils and teachers at state schools and state-funded further education colleges via remote access in partnership with Bloomsbury Publishing.

The National Theatre has announced its new initiative, NATIONAL THEATRE AT HOME providing access to content online to serve audiences in their homes. Audiences around the world can stream NT Live productions for free via YouTube.

The annual Drama Teacher Conference took place at the National Theatre on 20th a?' 21st February 2020, with over 140 drama teachers attending from Inverness to Plymouth.

the Open Book Theatre, New York City's oldest readers theatre company, will present two heartwarming holiday shows this December: 'A Confused Hanukkah,' at 2 p.m. on Dec. 23, 26 and 27; and 'The Last Christmas of Ebenezer Scrooge,' at 7 p.m. on Dec. 22, 23 and 29. Both plays will be performed at Pushkin Hall, 165 W. 86th St., 2nd Floor.

Today the matinee performance of the National Theatre's acclaimed production of War Horse at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre had a special audience made up of more than 1,300 young people from state schools across the Borough of Brent. This performance was introduced by author Michael Morpurgo, who welcomed the young people, saying, 'It's completely wonderful for War Horse to be performed to an auditorium full of young people, many of whom will have never set foot in a theatre before. These are the most important audiences and I shall be sat there right alongside them, only perhaps crying a little more.'

Following the success of last year's nationwide schools tour, a specially staged version of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time will be seen by five secondary schools across Wolverhampton in partnership with the Wolverhampton Grand this Autumn.

Applications are now open for two National Theatre free training programmes for young people aged 14-18. These programmes offer about a unique insight into the many backstage and off-stage roles in the theatre and a chance to develop technical skills with the support of top industry professionals.
