Alex Benito Rodriguez Biography
Alex Benito Rodriguez is a visual and performative artist with a focus in actor/ensemble training for theatrical events. He received his BFA in Performance from The University of Illinois at Chicago where he collaborated with artists from The Goodman Theater, Steppenwolf Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and Lookingglass Theatre Company in the classroom and on stage.In 2016 Alex become an ensemble member and marketing manager at Walkabout Theater Company, a Chicago company specialized in laboratory & devised theatre practices with emphasis in physical performance training, outdoor spectacle, and international exchange.
Alex received his MFA in acting from the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training. Notable performances include DOUG in Gruesome Playground Injuries in the conservatory season and REVEREND HALE in The Crucible on the Asolo Rep stage.
In response to the pandemic, Alex explored new ways to implement devised performance making in an online format with a goal to build creative community and make space for collective healing & dreaming through artistic creation.
Alex is currently living in Chicago and is represented by Big Mouth Talent.
