Madame Butterfly at Steinmetz Hall at Dr. Phillips Center

Opera Orlando opens its 2026-27 MainStage season with Puccini's Madame Butterfly at Steinmetz Hall at Dr. Phillips Center. The opera follows Cio-Cio San, a young Japanese woman who marries an American naval officer and waits three years for his return, with Puccini's score building toward an inevitable and devastating conclusion. Soprano Yeawon Jun makes her Opera Orlando debut in the title role, with tenor Isaac Hurtado as Lt. Pinkerton. Conductor Kalena Bovell, the 2024 Sphinx Medal of Excellence recipient, and stage director Rebecca A. Herman both make their Company debuts, with performances running October 2–4, 2026.
