Regina Opera will present 5 fully-staged performances of Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana” plus a Concerto by Mozart: March 2, 3, 9, and 10 at 3PM; March 9 at 7PM. In this one-act opera, the themes of Love, Lust, and Betrayal will play out in a small Sicilian village. This tuneful production will be presented in Italian with orchestra accompaniment and English supertitles, conducted by Scott Jackson Wiley and staged by Sabrina Palladino.
The 3 casts include Sara Beth Pearson, Lara Tillotson, and Dilara Unsal (picturred, right) as Santuzza; Paolo Buffagni,(pictured, left), Giwooung Kim, and Christopher Trapani asTuriddu; Peter Hakjoon Kim, Eliam Ramos, and Andrew Wannigman as Alfio, Arina Ayzen, Melina Jaharis, and Laura Virella as Lola; and Sydney Guthrie, Elizabeth Moulton, and Anna Viemeister as Mamma Lucia.
The venue has an accessible entrance, restroom, and concession stand. Accessible entrance is located to the right of the main entrance on 6th Avenue between 59th and 60th Streets.
