Maris, a poor but ravishing young woman is destined for greatness. Despite her humble beginnings of being raised by her grandparents, and a faithful four-legged mutt, she finds love with the dashing and rich Sergio Antonio Jos. Little does she know, he has been using her all along to spite his filthy rich family! What happens when, underneath all of his deception and disgraceful actions, Sergio discovers (gasp!) true feelings?! Can the impossible happen? Can love conquer all!? Can animals really talk? That just seems far fetched! Telenovela 101 is the first quarter of a melodramatic Mexican Soap Opera Parody. Performances in espaol, with English subtitles, so that everyone can enjoy the authentic drama!!Telenovela is performed by an all-female cast, and all Spanish characters will be played by Mexican women.The cast will include Kate Gauthier (Canada), Regina Romero (Mexico), Silvana Gonzlez (Mexico), Fernanda Hidalgo (Mexico), Paulina de la Parra (Mexico) and Lorena del Pino (Mexico). Written and directed by Martha Preve Ayora (Mexico), assistant director Katharine Nedder (USA), costume design by Paloma de Vega Centenera (Spain)

FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade in association with Manhattan Theatre Source will present the 2019 EstroGenius Festival, the longest running festival celebrating the work of women and gender non-conforming artists in NYC. Begun in Manhattan Theatre Source in 2000 as a short-play festival, the festival has launched and supported hundreds of artists in its 19 years. In 2017 the festival moved to its new home at The Kraine Theatre on E. 4th St.
