Nina from Our Town Goes to NYC June 20–21, 2025 About the Show Nina from Our Town Goes to NYC is a bold, autobiographical solo performance written and performed by Korean artist Hyojin Park and Directed by Paul Pryce. The play traces the journey of Nina, a young Korean woman who leaves her quiet hometown and travels to New York City, carrying a suitcase full of hopes, fears, and dreams. What begins as a personal exploration unfolds into a deeply resonant story of migration, cultural identity, and intergenerational connection. The piece was originally developed under the title M.F.A. (Masters of F*cking Artists of Color), inspired by Park’s real-life experience as a Korean international student at her MFA Acting program. Blending humor, vulnerability, and heartbreak, the show captures the challenges and triumphs of navigating belonging, ambition, and selfhood in a foreign land. After four years of acclaimed performances in both Korean and English in Korea, Nina from Our Town Goes to NYC now makes its long-awaited New York debut. Running Time: 100 minutes Audience Reviews
