The Austrian Cultural Forum New York presents the Austrian 10-piece ensemble Studio Dan in their US debut. Admission is free, and reservations (online at ACFNY.org) are required. The concert features the world premiere performance of a commissioned work by Christian F. Schiller (*1977). Schiller studied composition with Gerd Kühr and Georg Friedrich Haas in Graz, and his music has been performed by prestigious ensembles including Klangforum Wien and Ensemble Recherche. On the other half of the program, Studio Dan performs original music that was written by Daniel Riegler to accompany the multimedia installation HOMO FABER. The installation juxtaposed historical sound recordings and works by sculptor Fritz Wotruba with texts and works from the artist duo Krüger and Pardeller, alongside Mr. Riegler's compositions. From 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, a video of the installation will run in ACFNY's theater.
