Praised for their "passion and power" by The New York Times at their previous ACFNY performance, Kleinhapl & Woyke return to ACFNY's jewel-box of a recital hall. The program features Beethoven's Cello Sonata in G minor alongside 20th century masterpieces: the Cello Sonata by Alfred Schnittke and Shostakovitch's highly expressive Cello Sonata in D minor. Kleinhapl has the stage to himself for the dramatic cadenza from Friedrich Gulda's Concerto for Cello and Wind Orchestra.
