Cello recital at ACFNY: Kleinhapl & Woyke at Austrian Cultural Forum NY

On Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 7:30 pm, the Austrian Cultural Forum New York presents the acclaimed cello/piano duo, Friedrich Kleinhapl & Andreas Woyke, performing works by Beethoven, Shostakovitch, Schnittke, and Gulda. Admission is free, and reservations (online at ACFNY.org) are required. Austrian Cultural Forum New York is located at 11 East 52nd Street, New York, NY.

Praised for their "passion and power" by The New York Times at their previous ACFNY performance, Kleinhapl & Woyke return to ACFNY's jewel-box of a recital hall. The program features Beethoven's Cello Sonata in G minor alongside 20th century masterpieces: the Cello Sonata by Alfred Schnittke and Shostakovitch's highly expressive Cello Sonata in D minor. Kleinhapl has the stage to himself for the dramatic cadenza from Friedrich Gulda's Concerto for Cello and Wind Orchestra.
