Adelphi Orchestra Presents Echoes of the Isles Featuring Violinist Blues Zhang and Mezzo-Soprano Laura Zahn The Adelphi Orchestra opens its 2025–2026 season with Echoes of the Isles, a stirring concert program evoking the spirit and landscapes of the British Isles. Under the baton of Maestro Jason Tramm, the orchestra presents works by Felix Mendelssohn, Max Bruch, and Edward Elgar, featuring two outstanding young soloists. Violinist Blues Zhang, winner of the Adelphi Orchestra's 2025 Young Artist Competition, takes center stage in Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy, a virtuosic and lyrical showpiece blending Scottish folk melodies with rich Romantic textures. Mezzo-soprano Laura Zahn performs Elgar’s Sea Pictures, a hauntingly beautiful song cycle set to poetry evoking the power and mystery of the sea. The program opens with Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture (Fingal’s Cave), a vivid orchestral seascape inspired by the composer’s travels to the Scottish coast. Concert Dates & Locations: Friday, October 10, 2025 – 7:30 PM Sunday, October 12, 2025 – 3:00 PM Livestream Available – Enjoy the performance from anywhere!
