DREAMCATS! is currently playing at The Gene Frankel Theatre, presented by Midnight Radio Show (MRS). The production, written and directed by Charlotte Lily Gaspard, will run through May 3.
The science-fiction fairy-tale shadow puppet musical is set in a world where cats study dreams, following Puccini, a cat who falls in love with a princess despite the rules of their kingdom. The piece incorporates puppetry, silhouette work, and original music.
About DREAMCATS!
Set in a fantastical universe, DREAMCATS! explores themes of friendship, love, and defiance through a story centered on Puccini and his relationship with the Princess. The production combines music and visual storytelling, featuring puppetry and shadow work.
Cast
The cast includes Tau Bennett, Maria Camia, Charlotte Lily Gaspard, Justin Gordon, with puppeteers Laurynn Starkey and Lana Tleimat.
Creative Team
Original music is composed by Sabrina Chap, Doc Frost, and Nebraska (FKA Jessie Davi). The creative team includes associate directors Cleopatra Boudreau and Malik Work, choreographer Emily Edwards, dramaturg Ash Winkfield, sound designer Sophie Yuqing Nie, and set designer Andrew Robinson.
Tickets and Schedule
DREAMCATS! runs through May 3, with performances Thursdays and Fridays at 7:00 p.m., Saturdays at 5:00 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. at The Gene Frankel Theatre, located at 24 Bond Street in New York City. Tickets are priced at $22.83 for children and $33.23 for general admission.
