Galli's Fairytale Theater Presents CINDERELLA, 2/20
Galli's Fairytale Theater will enchant young audiences with the beloved fairytale Cinderella. The play, for kids from 3 and up, starts at 3 p.m. in Galli's midtown theater at 38 W 38th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues, Manhattan.
Galli's Cinderella is an uplifting remake of the original Grimm story about a pure-hearted girl who loses her mother but finds her prince. This fairy tale tells the story of how inner strength, hope and kindness win over outer beauty. Galli's Cinderella encourages children to express their feelings and overcome their fears. Everyone feels part of the story as the company interacts with its audience in its intimate, cozy 55-seat theater. The company engages its audience in song, dance, and comedy. Playwright, clown and director Johannes Galli has been bringing fairy tales to kids for almost 25 years. Believing that fairy tales are healing for children, he uses the original story but changes the "grim" version into a humorous play that entertains kids and adults alike and has a fun and educating message in the end."At her school, my daughter was asked for her special skill. Some kids picked cooking or drawing. Our daughter, Lana, said her skill was that she could ‘play Cinderella over and over and over again.' Lana loves Galli's plays. Thanks for all of Galli's great work for kids -- helping to build their imagination and self-esteem," said Steven Weiser, associate general counsel at Ernst and Young.
