WAY OFF BROADWAY CHILDREN'S THEATRE 2013 SEASON - Way Off Broadway Children's Theatre

CHILDREN'S THEATRE 2013
Thursday, March 7th beginning at 7:00 p.m.
at The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre

Way Off Broadway’s Children’s Theatre is one of the
most unique entertainment venues in the region. To this day, nearly 18
years after it first opened, it is the only children’s lunch theatre,
producing four shows each season, aimed at providing entertainment for
the entire family. Since it opened, the Children’s Theatre at Way Off
Broadway has only held one open casting call. Today, Way Off
Broadway’s Executive Producer, Bill Kiska, has set a date for open
auditions for all the upcoming shows in the 2013 Season. The first
time the Children’s Theatre held open auditions was six years ago.

Those auditioning are asked to bring a headshot and resume, as well as
16 bars of prepared music from a Disney song. Everyone will be asked
to sing, read from the scripts, and do some movement.

Those auditioning should be at least 16 years old. All roles are
non-union paying. No appointments are necessary. Role are available
for both male and female performers. Shows that will be casting
include Disney’s Cinderella, Pinkalicious – The Musical, and A
Children’s Theatre Christmas Carol.

Children's Theatre performances are every Saturday afternoon and the
2nd and 4th Sunday afternoon of each month. There are also occasional
weekday matinees during the runs. Rehearsals are usually held one to
two evenings a week.

“In the last couple of years, we have revamped the Children’s
Theatre,” explains Bill Kiska, Way Off Broadway’s Executive Producer.
“Part of that included presenting new family shows like The Musical
Adventure of Flat Stanley and Dora The Explorer Live!, as well as
having new Disney productions in our line-up. While we have a
wonderful core group of actors who perform in the Children’s Theatre,
we want to hold open auditions so that we can provide new performers
the chance to join the our shows.”

Way Off Broadway’s next Mainstage auditions will be for the summer
production of Legally Blonde.
