About the Play
Fefu and Her Friends is a landmark feminist work of American theatre that invites audiences into the private and political inner lives of eight women during a gathering in the 1930s. Through fragmented scenes, direct address, and unconventional staging, the play examines power, identity, intimacy, and the ways women are shaped and constrained by social expectations. Bold, intimate, and formally inventive, Fefu remains a vital and challenging theatrical experience.
