Auditions for Lovers' Quarrels

Directed by Kimberly Glover Show Synopsis: Translated by Richard Wilbur, this is a complex 17th century French farce, animated by deception and misunderstanding. At its core is a young woman named Ascagne who has spent her life wearing masculine disguises for the sake of inheritance. She cleverly marries her sister Lucille's suitor Valere by disguising herself during the midnight ceremony, and this sets off a chain of events that change the lives of all those around.
