CALL FOR AUDITIONS

“Jesus Christ Superstar” - Fauquier Community Theatre

Performance Dates: September 11, 12, 18, 19 (7 shows)

Rehearsals in-person in Warrenton, VA • Performances at Verdun Amphitheater in Rixeyville, VA

Non-Equity/Community Theatre

Originally to be performed in May of 2020 but put on hiatus due to covid, we have a great team with a tight cast… but schedules have changed and several cast members have moved in the

past year, leaving us with an immediate need for several key roles. Come join this very talented, professional grade group of actors, live orchestra and production staff as we put on

this legendary show in a large, beautiful, well outfitted outdoor arena on some of the nicest evenings of the year. The production vision is one of historical accuracy and is set in Jerusalem the week of the Crucifixion with great attention to visual and historic detail. In addition, the cast has been greatly exploring the nature of power and how it relates to both the oppressor and the oppressed.

TO AUDITION:

We are starting back up in the next two weeks! In the interest of time, please sing one of the three requested songs and submit to the Director using the information below as an unlisted YouTube or Vimeo link no later than 5:00 PM Friday, June 11. In addition, you will need to fill out and submit an audition form, also listed below.

Choose one song to audition: “Gethsemane” (Jesus), “Simon Zealots” (Simon), “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” (Mary Magdalene). Note that the Simon and Mary Magdalene roles are

currently full (we will need a Simon understudy with one guaranteed performance), but these selections are the best opportunities to show the musical style in the show. If there is a

different selection from the show you would like to sing, contact the Director.
