We are conducting a search throughout the New York and Tri-State area to find a young actor to play the featured role Char'es Baby in
The Metropolitan Opera's production of FIRE SHUT UP IN MY BONES. Those with no opera experience or training are encouraged to apply! We are looking for African American boys aged 6-12 who can sing.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER

[CHAR’ES BABY] The youngest of 5 boys and is the neighborhood’s baby. Sweet. A Momma’s boy. Featured prominently throughout all of Act 1, with brief moments in Act 2.

NOTE: This production addresses sexual abuse of this character but does not involve nudity, or simulation.
