FIDDLER ON THE ROOF - Carrollwood Players Theatre

Carrollwood Players Theatre has announced two additional audition dates

for their upcoming production of the classic Broadway musical, FIDDLER ON THE

ROOF. Auditions for all roles will be held on Thursday, July 16th at 7 pm and on

Saturday, July 18th at 1 pm, at Carrollwood Players, 4333 Gunn Highway, Tampa,

brainchild of Broadway legends Jerome Robbins, Harold Prince, songwriters Jerry Bock

and Sheldon Harnick, and bookwriter Joseph Stein....

Touching audiences worldwide with its humor, warmth and honesty, this universal show

is a staple of the musical theatre canon. Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story

centers on Tevye, a poor dairyman, and his five daughters.

With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his

daughters and instill them with traditional values in the face of changing social mores

and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia.

Rich in historical and ethnic detail, Fiddler On The Roof's universal theme of tradition

cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying

tears of laughter, joy and sadness.

Please prepare 16-32 bars of music in the style of the show. Those auditioning should

provide a CD with backing track.

Auditions will also consist of cold readings from the script and a dance/movement

audition with the choreographer. Head shots and resumes welcome, but not required.

The show will run September 11th through October 3rd. Performances are Friday and

Saturday nights at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. Cast must be available for all tech week
