Auditions for It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play
adapted by Joe Landry from the screenplay by Goodrich, Hackett, Capra & Swerling

Directed by Jim Johnson

This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve.

CAST INFO
This is a radio play, with voice actors playing a number of parts. The ability to differentiate character voices is more important than looking the part.

The actual number of cast members will depend on the number and quality of the voice actors who audition, the script is written for 2 women and 3 men, however the current plans are:
4-6 men
2-3 women
2 boys (10-15)
2 girls (10-15)
Stage Manager
1-2 Foley artists (sound effects)

The stage manager for this show WILL have a speaking part. The stage manager will serve in the role of the 'producer,' welcoming the audience to the show and making pre-show announcements.

The foley artist(s) will do all of the sound effects and will be on stage. Although there are no lines for the foley artist(s), this is one of the most critical roles.

Because this is a 1940's style radio show, voice actors will have their scripts in hand on stage.
