BALITMORE SHAKESPEARE FACTORY 2018 SEASON - Baltimore Shakespeare Factory

The Baltimore Shakespeare Factory is pleased to announce auditions for the remainder of our 2018 season! All roles are open unless noted, and we’d like to see all ages and types; gender is not a factor unless noted. No experience with acting Shakespeare is required. Below is a brief overview of each show and its rehearsal schedule. Actors will receive a stipend of $200. Download and complete an audition form from our website, and email it to Rachel at rachel@baltimoreshakespearefactory.org

30-60 second Shakespearean monologue required if you've never performed with us before. Be prepared to sing or play an instrument if you do either of those things (not required)

What We Are Auditioning For
?
Othello, directed by Tom Delise
*the roles of Othello and Desdemona have been cast
This will be the fourth of our annual original pronunciation (OP) productions. Experience with OP is not required; knowledge of IPA and experience with dialects and accents is preferred but not required.
Text work weekend: Saturday, January 14 and Sunday, January 15, 10am-5pm
Rehearsals begin Saturday, February 10, and will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 – 10pm and Saturdays 10 am – 4 pm (tech week rehearsals will run Monday April 2 through Thursday April 5)
Opening night: Friday, April 6, with performances every Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 4pm from through April 29

Macbeth, directed by Kevin Finkelstein
Text work weekend: Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22, 10am – 5pm
Rehearsals begin Wednesday May 16, and will run Wednesdays and Fridays from 7-10pm and Saturdays 10am – 4pm (tech week rehearsals will run Monday July 2 through Thursday July 5)
Opening night is Friday, July 6, with performances every Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 4pm
Performances dates are every Friday and Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday at 4 pm from June 6 through July 29
One additional performance will be held at Boordy Vineyards on Sunday August 6 at 6:30pm

King John, directed by Tom Delise
Text work weekend: Saturday May 12 and Sunday May 13, 10am – 5pm
Rehearsals begin Tuesday June 5, and will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 – 10pm and Saturdays 10 am – 4 pm (tech week rehearsals will run Monday July 23 through Thursday July 26)
Opening night: Friday, July 27, with performances every Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 4pm through August 19
Two additional performances will be held at Boordy Vineyards on Friday August 24 and Friday August 31, both at 7pm

A Chaste Maid in Cheapside, directed by Marshall B Garrett
*this production will be cast with female-identifying actors
Text work weekend: Saturday August 25 from 10am-5pm and Sunday August 26 from 1pm - pm
Rehearsals begin Monday September 17 and will run every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 7 – 10 pm and Saturday 10 am – 4 pm.
