AUDITION DATES

Tuesday, November 17, 2026 from 4:30–7:00 p.m.

Actors should arrive by 4:15 p.m. to complete the required paperwork and should expect to remain for the entire audition period. Actors only need to attend one audition date.

Callbacks, if invited, will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2026 from 4:00–7:00 p.m.

PRODUCTION SCHEDULE

Performances run January 16–February 7, 2027.

Actors must be available for all technical rehearsals and performances. A complete rehearsal and performance schedule will be provided at auditions.

ELIGIBILITY

Actors ages 7–17 as of the first performance are eligible to participate. Actors who are 18 and currently enrolled in high school are also eligible.

No previous theatrical experience is required. Casting is determined by audition and is based on each actor’s ability and suitability for the available roles.

Cast size is limited to 35 actors.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

Please prepare 16–32 bars, or approximately one minute, of a song in the style of the show. Bring sheet music in the appropriate key for the accompanist. A cappella singing and recorded accompaniment are not permitted.

Auditions will also include a dance combination taught by the choreographer. Please wear or bring clothing and shoes that allow you to move safely and comfortably.

Please bring:

• Sheet music for your prepared vocal selection
• A complete list of rehearsal conflicts
• A completed audition form signed by a parent or guardian

Walk-ins are welcome, but auditioners are encouraged to sign up online at dmtc.org. The audition form may be completed digitally in advance or on paper at the audition.

The callback list will be posted on the DMTC website following Tuesday evening’s auditions.

All rehearsal conflicts must be disclosed at auditions. Conflicts are not permitted during technical rehearsals or performances.

PARENT OR GUARDIAN COMMITMENT

Davis Musical Theatre Company is an all-volunteer organization. Every YPT production depends on active participation from the parents and guardians of cast members.

For each child cast in the production, a parent or guardian is required to:

• Complete 25 volunteer hours
• Attend required parent meetings
• Ensure the actor arrives at rehearsals and performances on time and prepared
• Communicate promptly with the production team
• Meet with the costume coordinator as required
• Provide costume pieces according to the costume coordinator’s instructions
• Complete all required forms and signatures

Parents and guardians should consider their own availability before their child auditions. The actor’s participation requires a commitment from the entire family.

PLOT SYNOPSIS

Elle Woods seems to have everything—but when her boyfriend, Warner, ends their relationship because he wants someone more “serious,” Elle becomes determined to prove that she belongs in his future. She follows Warner to Harvard Law School, where she faces skepticism, snobbery, and classmates who underestimate her at every turn.

With help from teaching assistant Emmett Forrest, hairstylist Paulette, and her loyal Delta Nu sisters, Elle discovers that intelligence and individuality are not mutually exclusive. As she gains confidence and takes on a high-profile legal case, Elle begins to recognize her own talents and build a future defined by her ambitions rather than someone else’s expectations.

Featuring memorable songs, dynamic dances, and plenty of humor, Legally Blonde The Musical JR. is an energetic and heartwarming story about self-confidence, determination, friendship, and refusing to let stereotypes determine your worth.

Recommended for ages 11 and up.

AVAILABLE ROLES

All roles are open. DMTC does not pre-cast. DMTC welcomes performers of all backgrounds and encourages actors to consider any role with which they identify.

Listed casting requirements are approximate and may be adjusted at the discretion of the production team.

Elle Woods: An optimistic, determined, and unapologetically feminine Delta Nu sorority sister who follows her former boyfriend to Harvard Law School. Although others dismiss her, Elle proves herself to be intelligent, hardworking, compassionate, and remarkably resilient. This demanding leading role requires an exceptional singer, actor, and dancer with strong comedic instincts, emotional range, stamina, and an earnest, lovable stage presence.

Margot, Serena, and Pilar: Elle’s energetic best friends and fellow Delta Nu sisters. They serve as her loyal supporters and frequently appear as a Greek chorus inside Elle’s imagination. These featured roles require strong singers and actors with excellent energy, comic timing, movement ability, and chemistry as a group. Vocal range: F#3–C#5.

Kate: A studious and academically gifted Delta Nu sister who helps Elle prepare for the law school admissions test. A featured role requiring confident characterization, singing, and movement.

Warner Huntington III: Elle’s ambitious former boyfriend, who leaves her because he believes she is not serious enough for his plans. At Harvard, Warner attempts to reinvent himself as a polished future lawyer. Requires a strong singer and actor who can balance charm, entitlement, ambition, and comedy.

Emmett Forrest: A hardworking Harvard Law teaching assistant who has earned every opportunity through persistence and discipline. Emmett recognizes Elle’s potential, encourages her to take herself seriously, and gradually falls in love with her. Requires an excellent actor and strong singer who can convey intelligence, sincerity, humor, and warmth.

Paulette: A bold, funny, and warmhearted hairstylist who becomes one of Elle’s closest friends. Beneath her outgoing personality, Paulette struggles with insecurity and longs for a better life. Requires an outstanding comedic actor and strong singer with excellent characterization and emotional honesty.

Vivienne Kensington: Warner’s serious and sophisticated new girlfriend and one of Elle’s law school classmates. Initially dismissive of Elle, Vivienne eventually recognizes her integrity and becomes an ally. Requires a strong singer and actor capable of making a convincing transition from antagonist to friend.

Professor Callahan: Harvard’s intimidating and highly respected law professor. Callahan is demanding, calculating, and accustomed to wielding authority over his students and employees. Requires a commanding dramatic actor who can portray confidence, manipulation, and menace. Singing ability is helpful, but strong acting and stage presence are central to the role.

Brooke Wyndham: A famous fitness instructor accused of murdering her wealthy husband. Energetic, disciplined, and determined to protect a personal secret, Brooke must decide whether she can trust Elle with her defense. This physically demanding role requires an advanced singer, dancer, and actor with exceptional stamina and stage presence.

Enid Hoopes: An outspoken Harvard Law student with strong convictions and a distinctive personality. Enid is intelligent, politically engaged, and unafraid to challenge her classmates. Requires a confident actor who can make bold comedic and character choices.

Aaron Schultz and Sundeep Agrawal Padamadan: Accomplished Harvard Law students whose intimidating credentials make Elle question whether she belongs. These featured roles require energetic performers with distinctive personalities, confident delivery, and strong comedic instincts.

Whitney: Vivienne’s law school friend and early ally in making Elle feel unwelcome at Harvard. A featured role for a performer with strong energy, characterization, and stage presence.

Winthrop, Lowell, and Pforzheimer: The Harvard admissions officers responsible for evaluating Elle’s unconventional application. Initially skeptical, they are eventually swept into her elaborate presentation. These featured comedic roles require strong actors capable of portraying authority while working closely as a trio.

Kyle: A confident UPS delivery driver who immediately captures Paulette’s attention. This featured comedic role requires charisma, strong physical characterization, and excellent timing. Dance or specialty movement skills may be featured.

Dewey: Paulette’s rude and inconsiderate former partner, who continues to mistreat her and refuses to return her dog. A brief but memorable cameo requiring fearless comedic characterization.

Chutney Wyndham: Brooke’s bitter stepdaughter and a key witness in the murder trial. Defensive, dramatic, and openly hostile toward Brooke, Chutney becomes central to Elle’s courtroom breakthrough. Requires a strong character actor with sharp comedic instincts.

Salon Employees: Paulette’s lively coworkers and friends at the salon. These featured performers help bring the salon sequences to life and lead the “Bend and Snap.” Requires strong singing, dancing, characterization, and plenty of personality.

Grandmaster Chad: A high-energy fraternity performer featured during Elle’s Harvard application presentation. A comedic cameo requiring confidence, musicality, and enthusiastic stage presence.

Featured Ensemble: Featured roles include Gaelen, the Judge, a JetBlue Pilot, Saleswoman, Store Manager, Prison Guard, Bookish Client, and Sabrina. These performers portray distinctive characters throughout Elle’s journey and require versatility, energy, and a willingness to make bold choices.

Ensemble: The ensemble portrays Delta Nu sorority sisters, fraternity members, Harvard students, waiters, salon patrons, courtroom participants, inmates, and other characters throughout the story. Ensemble members frequently change roles and are essential to the production’s vocal sound, choreography, comedy, and fast-paced storytelling.

The show contains several large, energetic musical numbers. Featured lines, solos, dance moments, and specialty roles may be assigned from the ensemble.
