10 MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL - Theatre Odyssey

It’s time to get ready for Theatre Odyssey’s 12th Annual 10 Minute Play Festival!

The Festival will be held May 4-6, 2017, 7:30 p.m. & May 7, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Cook Theatre (Cook Theatre at FSU/Asolo Performing Arts)

Auditions will be held on Monday, March 20 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Location: The show rooms of Home Resource, 741 Central St.,Sarasota, FL. 34236.

Actors: No monologues are required. Actors will be asked to read from sides of the plays selected for the 2017 Festival. Bring acting resume and headshot if available.

Listed are the plays that have been selected and the available roles.

A BIG WAVE by Connie Schindewolf
Roles for 1 man 1 woman ages 65; Drama

THE BEST TEN MINUTES EVER by Dylan Jones
Roles for 1 man 1 woman ages 25, 1 woman age 55ish; Comedy
Director Sara Logan

WHEELCHAIR CHICKEN by J. Clark
Roles for 1 woman in 70s, 2 men in 70s; Drama
Director Dan Greene

ALWAYS by Stephen Cooper
Roles for 1 man, 1 woman - both over 50; Drama;
Director Louise Stinespring

KENNEDY'S ACOLYTES by Jack Gilhooley
Roles for 3 teenage girls (speak with a brogue), Drama;
Director Sara Logan

THE CALL by Frank Motz
Roles for 2 women 40+, 1 man 40+; Drama;
Director Bob Trisolini

SECRET'S OUT by Greg Burdick
Roles for 1 African American man 47, 1 African American girl 16 who can be a cheerleader, 1 male (age 26) and female (age 24) couple; Comedy;
Director Dan Greene

I'M DEAD WHEN I SAY I'M DEAD by Ron Pantello
Roles for 1 man age 28, 1 woman age 50+ Comedy;
Director Louise Stinespring

Because the plays are ten-minutes in length, rehearsal time commitment is brief compared to full-length productions.

Founded in 2006, the company provides a nurturing environment to encourage, inspire, and challenge local playwrights and actors.
