(10/13/2014) - Cocktails named after some of the show stopping musical numbers from the smash Broadway musical CHICAGO greeted the cast, crew, and guests at a post-performance party at Marti's, a bistro in the French Quarter, late Tuesday night. CHICAGO's current tour cast, headlined by Bianca Marroquin (Roxie Hart), Terra C. MacLeod (Velma Kelly), John O'Hurley (Billy Flynn in select cities), Jacob Keith Watson (Amos Hart), Roz Ryan (Matron 'Mama' Morton), and C. Newcomer (Mary Sunshine), kicked off CHICAGO's 16th U.S. Tour at the newly reopened atmospheric theatre in NOLA, the 2,736-seater Saenger Theatre along Canal Street, with a rapturous standing ovation from a packed audience earlier that evening.

Students from Algiers Technology Academy, Martin Behrman Charter Academy for Creative Arts & Sciences, McDonogh #32 Literacy Charter School, William J. Fischer Accelerated Learning Academy, Dwight D. (01/08/2013) - Southern Rep Theatre kicks off its 26th Season Mainstage Series with VENUS IN FUR by David Ives at The Contemporary Arts Center directed by Aimée Hayes starring Todd d'Amour and Veronica Russell. In what The New York Times describes as 'seriously smart and very funny,' VENUS IN FUR is a frisky game of cat and mouse in which the lines blur between reality and play, seduction and power, and love and sex. (01/07/2013) - Performances for the upcoming national tour of FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation, begin January 1st and run through January 6 at Pittsburgh's Heinz Hall. At a recent press event, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl officially announced January 1st as FLASHDANCE day. Following the Pittsburgh engagement, FLASHDANCE will embark on a national tour to more than 25 cities in the next seven months with additional bookings to be announced soon. (08/26/2012) - Swine Palace's season will kick off with a production of A FREE MAN OF COLOR by John Guare, a finalist for the 2011 Pulitzer prize for Drama, and which had its world premiere at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre in the Lincoln Center in November of 2010. Swine Palace will be producing the first regional premiere of the play; no other production has been done. A FREE MAN OF COLOR runs at the Claude L. Shaver Theatre from September 19 - 30, 2012. The two were introduced by a friend of Rosen's, who wasn't able to make the wedding, as a result of the weather and warnings throughout all the boroughs.
