What happens when two sets of parents meet up to deal with a playground altercation between their eleven-year-old boys? A calm and rational debate between grown-ups about the need to teach kids how to behave properly? Or a hysterical night of name-calling, tantrums, and tears before bedtime? Well, in God of Carnage, by Yasmina Reza, the latter is what you’ll see at Le Petit Theatre.
Annette and Alan Raleigh will be played by Julie Lake and Conrad Ricamora, and Veronica and Michael Novak will be played by Marie Lovejoy and Joshua Mark Sienkiewicz. Lake is a two-time SAG Award-winning actor, best known for playing Angie Rice on “Orange Is the New Black,” while Ricamora was nominated for a Tony Award® for originating the role of Mary’s Husband in Oh, Mary! on Broadway, and is known for his role as Oliver on “How to Get Away with Murder” as well as “The Resident.” New Orleanians may remember Sienkiewicz from his roles in local productions of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea and Lisa D’Amour’s Obie Award-winning Detroit. And Lovejoy is a visual artist, but locals may have seen her act in Jubilee, Grace and Igor, Lysistrata, and Orange Flower Water.
