The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra is accepting applications for the 2022 NJSO Edward T. Cone Composition Institute through February 18. This multifaceted, tuition-free program offers four emerging composers the opportunity to have their music performed by the NJSO and participate in in-depth sessions with industry leaders.
MPAC will present a diverse lineup of holiday events this season. From New Jersey Ballet’s 50th anniversary of Nutcracker to the George Gee Swing Orchestra, to vocal powerhouse Jonathan Antoine, MPAC has events for families to get out and enjoy the season.
Broadway vocalist Tally Sessions and an NJSO string quartet give an at-home performance of “Being Alive” from Company on April 13 at 7 pm. The performance is part of a collaborative series presented by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Paper Mill Playhouse.
Stage stars Belinda Allyn and Matt Doyle join an NJSO string quartet for an at-home performance of “Tonight” from West Side Story on March 2 at 7 pm. The performance is part of a collaborative series presented by New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Paper Mill Playhouse.
Broadway actor Jacob Keith Watson and an NJSO string quartet will give an at-home performance of “Out There” from Disney’s The Hunchback and Notre Dame tonight, February 9, at 7 pm. The performance is part of a collaborative series presented by New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Paper Mill Playhouse.
In the first part of a collaboration between the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Paper Mill Playhouse, Broadway veteran Rema Webb and an NJSO string quintet give an at-home performance of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “You’ll Never Walk Alone” from Carousel tonight, January 5, at 7 pm.
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Trilogy: An Opera Company-a Newark-based opera company that focuses on the works of Black composers and subject matter relative to the Black experience- will present a free panel discussion and performance of selections from Michael Raphael's Emmett Till in a special Zoom event on November 10 at 8 pm.
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra has announced the application process for the 2020-21 NJSO Colton Fellowship, an excellence-based program designed to support early-career Black and Latinx musicians in the orchestra field.
