Until 1870, the Attila by Giuseppe Verdi knows no less than twenty-five productions in the Italian peninsula. Then his fame comes in the shadow of the masterpieces of maturity. Composed during the "galley years" composer, Attila is essential to the Italian public with an openly rebellious subtext: Verdi manages to insert pikes against the Austrian occupant, and its audience to the fiber Patriotic no mistake.
