The Local Music Scene is an improv show that uses live music performed by local musicians as inspiration for improvised, comedic scenes. It is produced and hosted by Philip Simondet and directed by Sarah Arnold-Simondet, and has been running monthly at Bryant Lake Bowl since 2015.
MUSICAL GUEST: MAX REWITZER
Max Rewitzer is a Twin Cities singer-songwriter originally from Northeast Minneapolis. Max combines introspective and melancholy lyrics with catchy folk and pop inspired melodies, once described as "Ben Gibbard on Broadway."
A former open mic host himself, Max is heavily involved in the local open mic scene and also performs monthly at Mojo Coffee Gallery and People's Organic Cafe in Minnetonka. You can find his songs streaming on Spotify and Bandcamp, with a new album on the way later this year.
