Going for a WALK with the BOYS, written by Alexander Attea and directed by Sherrine Azab, is one of six new plays featured in the first Midwestern Festival of SWANA Plays, hosted by New Arab American Theater Works at Open Book Performance Hall. In the play, a group of friends sets out for a day at the lake, but their trip takes a dark turn when a mysterious dead creature appears in their cooler, forcing them to confront their relationships, their past, and the structure of their identities. The festival showcases work by Midwestern SWANA playwrights developed through New Arab American Theater Works' Midwestern SWANA Playwright Incubator Program, with cast members including Bruce Abas, Noor Adwan, Zeyy Fawaz, Leor Benjamin, Hanen Bouchrit, Wasima Farah, Joey Haddad, Christine Harb, Nader Helmy, Taous Khazem, Tony Larkin, Ifrah Mansour, Kayla Karnesky, Michael Quadrozzi, Bahdoon Ahmad, Amir Shereef, Shavunda Brown, and Aamera Siddiqui.
