Last weekend History Theatre sold out the Friday and Saturday evening performances of BUDDY - THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY and the show has played to full houses throughout the run. The last time History Theatre filled its 600-seat house like this was during 2002's production of SISTERS OF SWING.

Guthrie Theater and Walker Art Center staff will spend this weekend preparing for next week's five-day Twin Cities fall theater bonanza, highlighted by the American stage debut of Guthrie Director Joe Dowling in Brian Friel's Faith Healer, the Guthrie/Walker co-presentation of the internationally acclaimed Druid Ireland's The Walworth Farce, an accompanying In Conversation event with Dowling and Walworth playwright Enda Walsh, two high-definition NT Live filmed presentations of the U.K. National Theatre's All's Well That Ends Well, the United States premiere of Interact Theater's Northern Lights/Southern Cross: Tales from the Other Side of the World and continuing performances of the Guthrie's 'Wilde and witty' production of The Importance of Being Earnest.
Woodbury Community Theatre Announces Auditions for A TRADITIONAL HOLIDAY CELEBRATION, 11/2 & 11/3

Woodbury Community Theatre is pleased to announce auditions for this year's holiday production, 'A Traditional Holiday Celebration.' They are seeking adults and kids in grades 1-6 who can sing, dance and perform to celebrate the many traditions that are shared throughout the world during the holiday season. Auditions will be held in open audition format on Monday, November 2 and Tuesday, November 3 at Woodbury Baptist Church, 6695 Upper Afton Road, Woodbury, MN 55125.

History Theatre partners with McNally Smith College of Music to produce Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story a show that is part biography, part rock 'n' roll concert which follows the bespectacled musician on this meteoric rise from a rebellious country singer to a rock 'n' roll icon and pioneer in the 1950s, ending with the unforgettable concert with Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper in Clear Lake, Iowa - the day the music died.

String quartet with a modernist pulse, members of the New York- and Berlin-based Osso have built dramatic arrangements in collaboration with an array of artists and genres, including Jay-Z, Alice and Ravi Coltrane, The New Pornographers, Antony and the Johnsons, The Polyphonic Spree, The National, Devotchka and Kanye West. Their interpretation of Sufjan Stevens' eccentric electronica album Enjoy Your Rabbit -each song named for a year of the Chinese zodiac-recomposes computer keystrokes into rhythmic classical arrangements, bridging the drama of indie rock and the nuance of chamber harmonies. The result is Run Rabbit Run-arranged by Stevens expressly for Osso-to be released on Asthmatic Kitty Records October 6.
