The cast features Ansa Akyea, Namir Smallwood, Regina Marie Williams, and Bruce A. Young. Performances run Wednesdays through Sundays, May 28, 2010 through June 27, 2010. Tickets are $10 - $20. Performances take place on the Pillsbury House Theatre Mainstage at 3501 Chicago Avenue South in Minneapolis.
Children's Theatre Company'sANNIE Closes 6/26

Children's Theatre Company (CTC) today announced the theatre will, for the first-time in its 45-year history, stage one of the theatre's most sought-after musicals, 'Annie.' Among the most requested titles by CTC patrons, 'Annie' will be directed by Peter Rothstein, who brought 'Disney's High School Musical' and 'A Year With Frog & Toad' to the Children's Theatre Company stage in the past.

Twin Cities theater producer, Steve Barberio announced today that he now operates the Music Box Theater in the Loring neighborhood of Minneapolis. Barberio's theater production company, The Directors, will begin presenting a wide range of events this July, transforming the venue into a modern day variety house for the community.

Springboard for the Arts Announces Artist Development Workshops Through 12/15

The Minnesota State Arts Board and Minnesota's Regional Arts Councils, in partnership with Springboard for the Arts and Creative Capital, are underwriting a pilot artist development project. The project, entitled, 'Springboard's Work of Art: Business Skills for Artists', will offer professional development workshops and education opportunities statewide for all artists. Additionally, Creative Capital will present one-day intensives on strategic planning, public relations, funding your work, and the Internet. Both workshops start on May 19 and run thru December 15 (dates vary by location). Because of the support from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, the workshops will be free to participants.
