JACK HANNA'S INTO THE WILD LIVE Comes to Milwaukee, 3/8

The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts has announced that JACK HANNA'S INTO THE WILD LIVE presented by Nationwide Insurance is coming to the Marcus Center on Friday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. in Uihlein Hall for one performance only. This performance is presented by the Marcus Center as part of its continuing series Marcus Center Presents. Tickets go on sale on Friday, January 11 at 12:00 p.m. at the Marcus Center Box Office.

Santa Claus will definitely put the cast and crew of Waukesha Civic Theatre's new holiday production CANDY CANE TALES AND HOLIDAY CAROLS on the "Nice" list this year. From the moment the fun filled evening begins, you can't help but be overtaken by the holiday spirit. The production follows the story line of a young girl and her parents as they prepare for the holiday season. As the story moves forward, the inquisitive young girls asks questions about many of the holiday traditions, where they came from, and why we celebrate them. Her parents, aided by the rest of the company, help explain and further illustrate the answers through story, song, and dance.
Kathryne Martin to Collaborate With Renaissance Theaterworks for THE ROAD TO MECCA

Renaissance Theaterworks (RTW) is working with a local visual artist, Kathryne Martin, for the production of THE ROAD TO MECCA by Athol Fugard. Thanks to the support of the Mary L. Nohl Fund, Kathryne is working on many small owl sculptures that mirror the real-life work of the main character in the play, Helen Martins of South Africa. Ms. Helen's work and life bear surprising similarities to Milwaukee's own Mary Nohl's life.

The play is adapted from the book by Mark Healy. Making his Rep debut, Art Manke will direct the play. The cast features Associate Artists Jonathan Gillard Daly and Laura Gordon, and guest actors John-Patrick Driscoll, Nick Gabriel, Kate Hurster, Ben Jacoby, Victoria Mack and Meaghan Sullivan. Rep Artistic Intern Ensemble Members Jonathan Altman, Emily Berman, Jess Prichard and J.R. Yancher are featured in the Ensemble as well as Anna Cline and Brandon Herr. The Associate Producers for this production are Steve and Nancy Einhorn and James and Pati Ericson. Sense and Sensibility runs in The Rep's Quadracci Powerhouse from December 11, 2012 - January 13, 2013 and opens on Friday, December 14, 2012.

Enter the colorful world of the cable access TV hostess as she tapes her last Christmas special in A KODACHROME CHRISTMAS. John McGivern reprises his role as Earlene, a combination and a tribute to all of the heavily lipsticked, nylon wearing, cigarette smoking, kitten heel loving women who came into his isolated world on the east side of Milwaukee and gave him a glimpse into what he believed to be the world of fancy.

The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts and The Irish Tenors are teaming up to help raise money for the Hunger Task Force during THE IRISH TENORS-THE PREMIERE IRISH HOLIDAY CELEBRATION TOUR that takes place this Sunday, November 25 at 6:00 p.m. in Uihlein Hall. $10.00 from each ticket sold using the code HUNGER will be donated to the organization. ONLY tickets sold at the Marcus Center Box Office (414-273-7206) or in person at 929 North Water Street, Downtown Milwaukee using the code will trigger the donation to Hunger Task Force.

Milwaukee Rep Announces A CHRISTMAS CAROL, 11/29-12/24

Now in its 37th year, The Rep's production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, sponsored by MillerCoors, is Milwaukee's beloved holiday tradition which has delighted audiences for generations at The Pabst Theater. Adapted by Joseph Hanreddy and Edward Morgan, Dickens' classic masterpiece brightens the holiday season with its beautiful carols and timeless message of hope, peace and love and the true meaning of the holidays. Milwaukee Repertory Theater is delighted to announce that Aaron Posner returns to The Rep to direct A Christmas Carol. Posner directed The Rep's To Kill a Mockingbird, which broke all-time attendance records last season, as well as the lyrical, beautifully-realized production of My Name is Asher Lev in 2010. This will be the first time that Posner has directed A Christmas Carol. This year's cast includes Milwaukee actors Marti Gobel and Jonathan Wainwright; Rep newcomers Melody Betts, Renata Friedman, Melisa Pereyra, Luigi Sottile and accomplished stage actor Christopher Donahue as Ebenezer Scrooge. Returning to The Rep this year are former Rep Artistic Intern Ensemble members Alexander Pawlowski and Emily Trask and frequent Rep guest artist Jonathan Smoots. Also rounding out the cast are Rep Associate Artists Angela Iannone and Gerard Neugent and Chicago actor Erik Hellman. A Christmas Carol runs at The Pabst Theater from November 29 - December 24.

The Marcus Center for Performing Arts was rocking Tuesday night for the opening of the Broadway Across America touring company of "Rock of Ages". The atmosphere at the theater was more like a rock concert, than a Broadway musical. And, for this particular brand of show, it worked spectacularly.

Carmen De La Paz, a Waukesha, Wisconsin native and international celebrity, will be donating her time and concert to perform a benefit concert on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Waukesha Civic Theatre. "My Life Through Music" is the premiere of a one-woman that she hopes to take to the international stage. This exciting night of music is a telling of her life story through song and anecdote, following her from Waukesha to New York and finally Los Angeles. Songs will include Broadway hits, Disco favorites, Spanish Language Pop Music as well as Romantic Songs. All proceeds from this show will benefit the Waukesha Civic Theatre.
