Undersiege at Detroit Public Theatre

A one-night only staged reading centering the voices and experiences of Black women and femmes, curated by Lynn Nottage and Dominique Morisseau. Presented by Detroit Public Theatre, the Obsidian Theatre Festival, and the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History as part of Fall of Freedom. Casaundra Freeman directs a company including Kelli Crump, Sydni Janeé Jackson, Whitney Johnson, Bréon LaDawn, Jessica Care Moore, and Carollette Phillips. The work was conceived in response to the continued silencing and forced departure of Black women and femme leaders across American institutions.
