The Nacirema Society is a pitch perfect comedy by celebrated Detroit native and nationally renowned playwright, poet, and author Pearl Cleage. Set in 1964 in Montgomery, Alabama, the play follows the Nacirema Society as it prepares for its 100th anniversary debutante ball, exploring themes of class, privilege, generational wealth, and family betrayal. The production is directed by Broadway veteran Steve Broadnax and has received major production support from The Roy Cockrum Foundation.
