Ugly Lies the Bone is a contemporary drama by Lindsey Ferrentino exploring the long-term impact of combat service, trauma, and recovery. The play follows Jess, a young veteran returning home from Afghanistan who struggles to adjust to life with severe physical injuries and chronic pain, turning to a virtual reality therapy program as both escape and a path toward healing. The production incorporates projection design and immersive visual elements to explore Jess's evolving emotional landscape and relationship to memory, pain, and recovery.
