Shanzell Q. Page, a celebrated tap dancer and choreographer, has been named the 2025-26 UMS/UM-Flint Artist in Residence at the University Musical Society. During her residency, she will develop a new work titled Salt in the Soil: Seeds and Fruit, which will explore the nourishing power of rhythm. This initiative emphasizes community engagement, including workshops and activities designed to deepen connections with Flint's residents and students. Page’s artistry reflects her experiences growing up in Flint, encapsulating its unique rhythm and resilience while promoting cultural traditions through dance.
