Join the Frost Symphony Orchestra and Maestro Gerard Schwarz for three orchestral masterpieces this February evening. Opening the program is Johann Strauss’ Don Juan, a tone poem which became an international success and established the composer’s reputation as an important exponent of modernism. Next on the program are two well-loved pieces in symphonic literature, Bolero by Maurice Ravel, originally written as a ballet, and Claude Debussy’s thrilling La mer. Closing the program, a student competition winner performs Ernest Chausson’s Poème.
