On Friday, September 2nd at 8:00 PM, The Orpheum invites everyone to a little tantalization during the Summer Movie Series finale and annual screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Directed by Jim Sharman, this 1975 cult classic and notorious horror parody is a fast-paced potpourri of camp, sci-fi and rock & roll, among other things, that tracks the exploits of naive couple Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon) after they stumble upon the lair of transvestite Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry). This over the top, bizarre musical also co-stars Meat Loaf and Richard O'Brien.

The Orpheum has made The Rocky Horror Picture Show a movie tradition, and this year's screening will come complete with props for interactive viewing and an on-stage costume contest before the show with spectacular prizes for winners in the male and female categories.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. for giveaways, an onstage costume contest, time warping, and more. Prop bags will be available for $5 each. Fans are encouraged to snap on their rubber gloves, toss up toilet paper, and not to be late-"the master doesn't like to be kept waiting."

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is rated R. Movie tickets are available in advance online thru Ticketmaster. Click on Buy Tickets at www.orpheum-memphis.com. Come by The Orpheum Box office or call 901-525-3000 to order by phone. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. The Orpheum's Summer Movie Series is sponsored by BB Kings, Itta Bena, and Roadshow Mini.
