The Spanish Harlem Orchestra can be seen as New York’s answer to the Buena Vista Social Club. The energetic ensemble was created in 2000 by Aaron Levinson and Oscar Hernandez, a veritable giant of Salsa who was best known for his work with Panamanian crooner Ruben Blades. The 13-strong group decided to revive the tradition of the classic dance orchestras that were once so popular in New York’s Latin neighborhoods. Whether they play Carnegie Hall or the South Bronx, the Spanish Harlem Orchestra always create a party. The group blends traditional Salsa heritage with the Latin music of the 21st century. After their outstanding Shows in 2006 and 2008, SHO comes back to Luxembourg presenting a powerful show which incorporates classic, hardcore and contemporary Salsa. The evening is certain to be packed with energetic rhythms – dancers be prepared to take the floor.
